Tree of Knowledge™ Jump Interaction Platform

these platforms swap between solid and holographic whenever the player jumps. originally the holographic version just used a transparent green material with a fresnel shader, so i went ahead and repurposed the caustics material used for some of the water and merged the two to create this effect! i think it matches the setting of the level and in general its a little more flashy

Launchpad™ ads

ads littered around one of the levels for Evergrowth Manufacturers launchpad! these are all posed in 3d with a material creating a dot-matrix effect in the background. i offset the RGB channels left/right/up/down in post-processing slightly --to give the effect of a printer error

Gantry Crane

the construction gantry visually sort of serves as a giant frame for whats to come when you start this level. its the first thing your eyes notice when you start, since the red stands out so much against the rest of the map. fittingly, then, it also acts as the big climax for the level as you ascend up to the moving crane! shoutout to filip for that level design, he killed it there.

...rumor has it some vandals once snuck onto the roof of the frame...

LR-vatorMail Drone

these drones, meant to deliver mail and goods between floors of skyscrapers during construction work as elevators for the player! i distorted the normalmap of the drone with a slightly smoothed voronoi texture to create these sort of painterly blobs of color/light. i think this looks more appealing, since before i did that the texture was a bit too harsh and the model looked a bit too high-detail for the style of the game

Level view

a view of one of the levels! the level is still WIP, but i took this screenshot to show changes i had made to the atmospheric fog and skylight. i think it looks nice!

Statues & Skeletons

these statues and skeletons concepts were originally drawn up by Filip Ekström, the head of SOMATOFORM! if you want to see the original sketches, youll probably have to ask him. i just modeled them in 3d.

the skeletons decorate the level portals, and the statues appear at the very start of the game. they all symbolically represent the themes and ideas of their corresponding levels!

Pool fish

one of the levels has this underwater section, and i thought the pools felt a bit empty. so to add a little life to the area i added these clownfish! theyre controlled using a niagara particle system with two oscillating attractors pulling the fish towards them to give the effect of boids without actually having to do all the work ;P

Level portal

at the End Of The World are 7 portals. this one leads to the level Black Friday! ive inscribed the bottom of each level portal with their own unique binary message encircling the base, this one says "hemospectrum". i wonder what that could be about ;3

Hands-Free™ Communications

this button and accompanying frame is a surprisingly detailed asset for where its placed, but filip had a really good concept for this and it ended up making the whole section feel finished visually! the little guys off to the left and right here are meant to resemble old MSN avatars, and continuing on that theme i altered the concept slightly to make the frames for their heads look a bit like windows 7 borders!

RADIANT ELUSION is an upcoming game im an artist for that you can wishlist here!
